About Laura Lee
A lifelong interest in studying art eventually led me to attempt painting.
I graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in Art History and lived for my Junior Year in Paris studying Art at the Sorbonne and Ecole du Louvre.
As an adult I fortunately found a marvelous teacher, Donna Aldridge, and spent twenty-two years, until her passing, as one of her devoted students in Kansas City.
I attended classes twice a week and focused on oil painting after several years working with pastels, which I found difficult. Oil paints are very forgiving and durable.
I spent some years working on “Floral Portraits” and then moved into painting animals and landscapes.
Painting has vastly enriched my life and I am fortunate to have been one of Donna’s students.
